Badmus Kilamuwaye, former Public Relations Officer for the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in South-West Nigeria, has officially joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He described his defection as a “progressive alignment focused on Nigeria’s democratic advancement.” Kilamuwaye emphasized national interest over personal gain motivated his decision.
“This move followed deep reflection on Nigeria’s political landscape,” Kilamuwaye stated. He stressed that robust democracy requires inclusive, people-centered governance foundations.
For the politician, politics represents service to humanity. “My engagement has always centered on public interest, not sentiments,” he noted.
Extensive consultations with supporters and mentors shaped his choice. Kilamuwaye praised the PDP as offering authentic youth participation opportunities.
“After thorough deliberations, I join the PDP – a platform enabling youth inclusion, unity, and governance access,” he declared. While valuing his NNPP experience, he stressed Nigeria needs broader political structures.
“I cherish my NNPP tenure as a learning period. Yet Nigeria’s progress demands alignment with parties possessing proven structures and development capacity,” Kilamuwaye concluded.
