ADC’s Confidence in 2027 Victory
Former Niger Delta Affairs Minister Usani Uguru Usani has expressed confidence in his new party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He believes the ADC can defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
Replicating 2015 Political Upset
In an interview with Daily Post, Usani stated the ADC could achieve what APC accomplished in 2015. That year saw an unprecedented defeat of a sitting president. “People considered it impossible to unseat an incumbent,” Usani recalled. “But it happened in 2015. We’ll repeat this feat in 2027 at both Cross River and national levels.”
Denial of Suspension Rumors
Usani dismissed recent media reports suggesting his suspension from the ADC. He maintains his position as National Vice Chairman for South-South. “I’m speaking to you in that capacity,” he asserted. “The suspension doesn’t exist. It was merely a paid assignment for those involved.”
Unfazed by APC Defections
The former minister downplayed concerns about defections to the APC. He characterized these moves as fear-driven rather than conviction-based. “We’re not disturbed by such defections,” Usani stated. “Our coalition is firmly established and progressing steadily.”
