An alarming incident has emerged from Elizade University in Ondo State. A visitor claims university security personnel harassed him.
Eyewitnesses report the man visited the campus for his brother’s birthday. He planned to celebrate with friends.
Sources indicate he brought a cake and other gifts. However, school authorities informed him cakes were not allowed on campus.
The visitor reportedly accepted this rule. He stated his intention to leave peacefully with his friends.
The situation allegedly escalated as they exited the campus. A security official is accused of assaulting and publicly humiliating the visitor.
Account of the Incident
A witness described the start of the altercation. “We were heading home,” the friend recounted. “As we left, the man began yelling at the visitor to leave.”
The visitor reportedly questioned the official. “Why are you shouting?” he asked. “I am a visitor. Is this your treatment for guests?”
The security official then grew angry, the account states. He began demanding handcuffs.
The visitor challenged this action. “Why do you need handcuffs?” he queried. “I only came for my brother’s birthday.”
The witness further alleged the incident turned violent. “That man struck him on the face,” the friend claimed. “Not just once, but twice.”
As of this report, university management has not issued an official statement. This situation remains under investigation.
