The Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has made a strong vow. They will protect the legacy of former Governor Godwin Obaseki. The party stated it would not allow those who “contribute nothing to the state” to undermine his achievements.
Dan Osa-Ogbegie, the PDP Publicity Secretary, released a statement on Tuesday. He confirmed the party’s unwavering support. This support is for all programs and policies Obaseki implemented while in office.
The party firmly asserted that Obaseki governed with courage. He consistently rejected the “predatory demands of political godfathers.”
Osa-Ogbegie declared, “We will not allow his legacy to be undermined.” He referred to “those who contributed nothing to Edo’s progress.”
He added, “We stand with him because he governed with courage. He protected Edo’s treasury. He uplifted the people of Edo. He resisted the predatory demands of political godfathers.”
Osa-Ogbegie concluded, “History will vindicate him. Edo people already have.”
The PDP also issued a call to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. They urged him to control members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State.
The party alleged concerning Senator Monday Okpebholo. They stated his conduct and that of his team were “overheating the polity.” They warned this could lead to a “seismic conflagration” if not immediately checked.
The PDP further insisted. They said APC members’ politics is “driven by bitterness, not service.” It is based on “vendetta, not vision.”
