Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has provided crucial context to colleague Regina Daniels’ controversial comments about drug use, denying they constituted any admission of substance abuse.
Ogala clarified Daniels’ statements were defensive reactions to allegations made by her estranged husband Ned Nwoko. “She was clearly defending herself,” Ogala emphasized on Instagram. “You said I do drugs. Yes, I do drugs – is that enough reason to arrest my family?”
Context of Controversial Remarks
Daniels’ original comments emerged during a heated exchange with Nwoko: “Fine, I did drugs. So what? Is that even the issue between us? The moment we had a fight, you rushed to the public shouting ‘drugs, drugs, drugs’ because you knew it would make a perfect media story.”
Many interpreted this as confirmation of substance abuse. Ogala insists it was rhetorical defense against Nwoko’s allegations, not factual admission.
Pattern of Obsession Alleged
Ogala framed the situation as disturbing obsession: “This is a clear case of ‘you must marry me.’ Regina did not admit to doing drugs. This looks like blackmail to bring her back to an abusive marriage.”
The actress highlighted Daniels’ abuse claims: “This girl has cried out about being abused. Yet you want her back after alleging she’s being injected and experiencing forceful penetration. Give her a break – at least let her cool off.”
Ogala concluded with concern for Daniels’ imprisoned brother: “Her brother remains detained while pressure mounts for marital reconciliation. This situation demands careful handling.”
