Renowned Nigerian music producer, Don Jazzy, has expressed profound concern over the escalating insecurity across the nation.
He issued a direct appeal to President Bola Tinubu. Don Jazzy urged the President to demand greater accountability and improved results from his security chiefs. This call aims to decisively tackle the pervasive insecurity plaguing the country.
Don Jazzy’s statement comes in the wake of several brutal attacks. These incidents include the tragic killing of Army General Musa Uba in Borno State. There was also the distressing abduction of 25 schoolgirls in Kebbi. Furthermore, a fatal shooting occurred at a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku, Kwara State.
Earlier, President Tinubu had publicly vowed a strong response. He promised the full weight of the Nigerian state against those threatening citizens’ safety.
Responding to the President’s pledge, Don Jazzy reflected on Nigeria’s past. He lamented that the country “wasn’t always like this.” He also urged President Tinubu to show no mercy to the perpetrators of these violent acts.
Emphasizing his stance, the Mavin Records boss declared, “The perpetrators deserve no mercy.” He emphasized the urgent need for Nigeria’s armed forces to “eliminate every single one of these terrorists.”
Don Jazzy questioned the apparent ease with which criminals operate. He asked pertinent questions: “Where are they appearing from and disappearing to? Where is the intelligence?”
He reiterated his direct appeal to the nation’s leader. “Mr. President,” he pleaded, “please demand more accountability from your security chiefs. This needs to end now, Sir.”
