Nigerian Afrobeat sensation Davido, officially David Adeleke, recently delivered a sharp response to a fan. The fan had suggested creating a structured fanbase for the music star, a proposition that seemingly displeased Davido.
The award-winning artist wasted no time in firing back. He wrote, “U Dey crase,” followed by another jab: “We Dey stack millions of $… u Dey talk about group chat. FEM.” His candid remarks quickly gained traction online.
Sophia Momodu Clarifies Imade’s Absence and Child Support
In a separate development, Davido’s babymama, Sophia Momodu, has clarified earlier claims. These claims suggested she prevented their daughter, Imade, from celebrating with her father and his family.
The controversy arose after Davido’s second daughter, Hailey, attended a recent family wedding. However, Imade was noticeably absent from the event. This sparked a flurry of reactions across social media platforms. Many netizens criticized Sophia, accusing her of deliberately keeping Imade from her paternal family.
Responding to the backlash, Sophia issued a statement via Instagram on Wednesday. She explained that she woke up to numerous attacks on herself and Imade following the wedding. She firmly stated that Imade is a healthy and happy child, adding that anyone who knows her can attest to this fact.
Sophia also highlighted her role as Imade’s primary caregiver. She revealed she has fulfilled this responsibility for the past five years. During this period, she has covered all of Imade’s expenses. The only exception, she noted, has been Imade’s school fees. These fees, she acknowledged, have been graciously covered by Imade’s paternal grandparents for the last three years.
Furthermore, Sophia stated that Davido has not contributed any child support. Despite this, she emphasized that their daughter “lacks nothing.” She affirmed her commitment to ensuring Imade maintains a strong relationship with her father. Sophia also clarified that she has never denied Davido access to their daughter.
Her priority, she concluded, remains Imade’s safety and structured schedule. Therefore, she carefully arranges any meetings between Imade and her father.
