Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed the next generation of artists poised to dominate the Nigerian music scene. During a recent livestream with popular streamer Carter Efe, the DMW boss named Asake, Omah Lay, and Rema as successors to himself, Wizkid, and Burna Boy – known as Afrobeats’ “Big Three”.
Davido expressed strong confidence in the trio’s potential. He stated they would shape Afrobeats’ future evolution. The singer also shared his dream international collaborations during the candid conversation.
“Asake, Omah Lay and Rema are the next GOATs of Afrobeats,” Davido declared. “I would love to do a song with Rihanna. I think me and Rihanna would make some dope music. Kehlani as well.”
The music icon further addressed his recent collaboration with Omah Lay. Davido explained their partnership on ‘With You’ stemmed from his desire to clarify their relationship dynamic.
According to Davido, he initiated the collaboration after seeing Omah Lay’s social media post. Their subsequent interactions naturally led to creating music together, dispelling any speculation about tension between the artists.
