The controversy started on December 6. Renowned cleric Sign Fireman posted pictures. They were from his “Umuahia Big Miracle Invasion” event. This initial post triggered the debate.
Cleric’s Healing Allegation
Fireman’s post detailed an interaction with Amarachi’s mother. He claimed she regained hearing instantly. This allegedly occurred during his service. She had been unable to hear with her left ear for 36 years.
Amarachi quickly refuted the testimony online. Her comment gained widespread notice. Social media users then debated the pastor’s claim’s veracity.
The pastor’s post featured pictures of the woman. It described her as having suffered from left-ear deafness for decades. It then proclaimed a miraculous restoration of her hearing.
The post declared, “Instantly healed of 36 years deafness!”
It further specified, “DAY 1, UMUAHIA BIG MIRACLE INVASION — WITH SIGN FIREMAN.” It noted, “Details: The deafness was that of the left ear.”
Daughter Contradicts Healing Story
Amarachi responded in the comments. She expressed shock at the pastor’s assertion. She confirmed the woman was her mother. However, she firmly stated her mother was never deaf. She declared:
“36 years of deafness??? This is my mother. She isn’t and wasn’t deaf, ever! Let’s be guided properly, please.”
She clarified that her mother sought prayer for temporary left-ear pain. Her mother never claimed to be deaf.
Amarachi explained, “For further clarification. My mother only came out to be prayed for a pain. She had it temporarily on her left ear. She never complained of being deaf. She never took money from anyone to act or make believe anything.”
She added, “My mother is completely unaware of this post’s caption. I request the page handler to edit the caption. Please correct it to the right information or remove it entirely soon.”
