Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s journey to Anambra’s governorship began in 2009 when he first declared interest in leading the southeastern state. Contesting under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2010 election, he lost to All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate Peter Obi.
After joining APGA in 2013, Soludo faced disqualification from that year’s governorship race. He returned triumphantly in 2021, securing APGA’s nomination after intense competition. His subsequent campaign across Anambra successfully convinced voters to elect him as Governor.

Soludo completed his MSc (1987) and PhD (1989) at the same institution, finishing as top student at all three levels. His exceptional scholarship earned him professorship at UNN in 1998, having authored over 82 academic publications.

His expertise made him a consultant for major international organizations like the World Bank, African Development Bank, and United Nations agencies.
Distinguished Public Service Career
