Nollywood icon Bukky Wright has issued an urgent warning to fans about fraudulent social media accounts operating under her name. The veteran actress revealed scammers are using her identity to promote fake job opportunities in the United Kingdom.
Wright clarified that a recent post offering UK employment was completely unauthorized. She emphasized this scam could potentially trap unsuspecting victims. The screen legend urged supporters to immediately report and block any suspicious profiles claiming to represent her.
In her official statement, Wright declared: “Dear friends and supporters, Please be cautious of fake accounts pretending to be me. I never requested for money. Then, I will never request for personal information or private chat on any other account. This is my main page!”
She further instructed: “If you receive any suspicious messages or offers, kindly report and block those accounts immediately. NB: A post was made on my account offering a job vacancy in UK and in turn we realize was fraudulent please disregard!!!”
The 58-year-old actress, celebrated for classic Nollywood films including “Omotara Johnson” and “Unforgivable”, joins growing ranks of Nigerian celebrities combating online impersonation. Her alert follows closely after colleague Iyabo Ojo exposed similar fake accounts.
