United States forward Benjamin Cremaschi emerged as the top scorer at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, securing the Golden Boot award after netting five goals during the tournament.
The 19-year-old striker delivered consistent performances throughout the competition, leading the American team to a strong campaign that ended in the semi-finals.
Cremaschi’s clinical finishing set him apart from other top scorers, including Colombia’s Neyser Villareal and France’s Lucas Michel, who also scored five goals but had fewer assists.
While Cremaschi earned individual honors, the biggest story unfolded as Morocco made history by winning their first FIFA U-20 World Cup title.
Morocco defeated defending champions Argentina 2-0 in the final at the Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos in Santiago, with Yassir Zabiri scoring both goals in the first half.
Zabiri’s outstanding performance earned him the Silver Ball, while his teammate Othmane Maamma was named the tournament’s best player, receiving the Golden Ball.
Argentina’s Milton Delgado received the Bronze Ball, and Santino Barbi was awarded the Golden Glove for his exceptional goalkeeping. The Fair Play Award went to the United States for their discipline throughout the competition.
