Former Big Brother Naija “Pepper Dem” star Tuoyo Ideh has publicly protested his arrest during a late-night raid conducted by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at a Lagos nightclub. The reality TV personality was among 150 individuals detained when NDLEA operatives stormed Proxy Nightclub on Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island around 3:00 AM on Sunday.
Tuoyo’s Account of the Raid
In emotional Instagram updates, Tuoyo described being forcibly detained despite claiming innocence. He stated NDLEA officials entered the venue with guns, ordering patrons to lie down before transporting them to the agency’s Ikoyi headquarters. The reality star expressed outrage at their treatment.
“They made us sit like criminals at NDLEA headquarters,” Tuoyo wrote. “Over 150 people arrested since 4:00 AM for no crime. This is the height of injustice.” He further lamented the confiscation of detainees’ phones during processing.
NDLEA’s Official Response
NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi confirmed the operation, revealing undercover agents had monitored the venue from 11:00 PM Saturday before executing the raid. Authorities reported recovering cannabis (locally called “loud”) and nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”) from the premises.
Babafemi stated all individuals present, including the club owner, were taken for questioning. The agency maintains the operation followed credible intelligence about drug-related activities at the location.
