The Bauchi State chapter of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has firmly rejected recent claims. These claims suggested Governor Bala Mohammed might defect to its platform. The party described such rumours as “unfounded and unacceptable.”
On Wednesday, PRP State Secretary Wada Abdullahi issued a clear statement. He confirmed the party has drawn a “clear line.” They will not accept Governor Mohammed under any circumstances. Abdullahi cited the governor’s “record of poor performance and disregard for democratic values.”
“His tenure as governor has shown poor performance,” the statement read. “We find this both disappointing and unacceptable.”

Unruly Conduct and Party Values
The party further accused the governor and his supporters. They allegedly engaged in unruly conduct. This behaviour occurred during political engagements at Wadata Plaza. Wadata Plaza is the national headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja.
“Such behaviour goes against our party’s values,” the statement declared. “The PRP stands for sanity, decency, orderliness, and discipline.”
It added that the PRP remains a sanctuary for disciplined leadership. It is not a refuge for politicians with questionable records.
Promise of 2027 Investigation
The statement also contained a strong promise. The PRP plans a full investigation into the Bala Muhammad administration. This inquiry would commence if the party wins the 2027 general election.
“We will thoroughly investigate his administration,” the party stated. “Any wrongdoers will be brought to book. We will also review policies implemented during his tenure.”
Among the controversial policies mentioned for reversal were two key decisions. These include the creation of a First Class Emirate. Also, the appointment of the governor’s elder brother as Emir.
Openness to Principled Individuals
Despite this firm position on Governor Muhammad, the PRP emphasized its openness. It welcomes individuals who have “contributed positively to Bauchi State’s development.” These individuals must also align with the party’s core principles.
