Basketmouth Condemns In-Flight Altercation
Nigerian comedian Basketmouth has publicly addressed the physical confrontation between social media commentator VeryDarkMan and entertainer Mr Jollof aboard an aircraft.
In an Instagram video, Basketmouth expressed disbelief at the incident. He questioned how adults could brawl in such confined spaces.
“Like others, I saw the video of Mr Jollof and VDM fighting in a plane,” Basketmouth stated. “Despite the tight space, they found room to exchange blows. This makes me wonder how we reached this point.”
Contrast With Past Feud
The comedian contrasted this incident with his long-standing disagreement with colleague AY Makun. “AY and I had issues for years, but we never resorted to punching each other. How embarrassing is this? Can’t we live peacefully?”
Basketmouth emphasized the need for self-control in public settings. He described the altercation as undignified.
Roots of the Conflict
Tensions escalated after VeryDarkMan accused Mr Jollof’s wife of improper dealings with politicians. He alleged she supported her husband’s Delta State political ambitions through questionable means.
These accusations deepened the hostility between the two men. The dispute culminated in their physical altercation during the flight.
Authorities arrested both individuals following the incident. Airlines and aviation regulators have since launched investigations.
