Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has once again officially endorsed Shehu Yohanna. Yohanna will serve as the Acting/Interim Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State.
Abubakar, a prominent chieftain of the ADC, urged all party stakeholders in Adamawa to unite. They should work collaboratively under Yohanna’s leadership. This aims to strengthen the party’s foundation across the state.
Furthermore, the former Vice President also backed the Sadiq Dasin-led Transition Team. He instructed them to cooperate with the state executive council, headed by Yohanna. Their joint objective is clear: firmly establish the ADC as a significant political force in Adamawa.
Atiku’s directive to the Adamawa State ADC exco and Transition Team follows a significant development. All lingering legal disputes have been successfully resolved. Key parties in Adamawa have signed commitments. This signals an end to previous internal wrangling.
Atiku expressed his delight at the recent resolutions. He stated, “I am particularly elated that we, in the Adamawa ADC family, are ending the year on a very positive note.” He stressed the importance of unity, adding, “No house divided against itself can stand.”
The former Vice President then encouraged both teams to collaborate. He urged, “I encourage both the Adamawa exco led by Shehu and the Dasin Transition Team to work together.” Their mission, he added, is to “establish the ADC as the preferred political party of choice” in Adamawa State.
Atiku also reiterated a crucial directive. It came from the national executive of the ADC, led by Senator David Mark. The party, he affirmed, will maintain “zero tolerance for all acts of indiscipline and insubordination.” This applies to all its members.
