Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), led a top party delegation on Monday. They visited the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency in Osun State.
The former Osun State Governor urged party members to intensify mobilization. This is crucial ahead of the 2026 and 2027 elections.
Aregbesola addressed party faithful at the Ijebu-Jesa Town Hall. He noted the massive turnout for the tour. He said it showed the people’s strong resolve. They remain committed to restoring good governance.
The former Minister of Interior declared a loss of confidence among Nigerians. He blamed the ruling administration’s policies. These policies, he stated, have worsened hunger, poverty, and insecurity nationwide.
A Call for Mobilization and Good Governance
Citizens must not let frustration lead to political apathy, he stressed. He urged unhappy citizens not to abandon their civic rights. Instead, they should join a visionary political movement. This movement must be committed to restoring good governance in Nigeria.
Aregbesola also told ADC members to ignore political detractors. He called these individuals “rejected by the masses.” He emphasized serious mobilization by party loyalists. The ADC, he noted, has a strong chance in the upcoming polls.
He called for tireless work to install a government. This government, he added, should care for the poor. It must also attend to the elderly, liberate the downtrodden, and banish hunger.
Other prominent leaders praised the members’ resilience. Among them were Dr Charles Omidiji, Osun ADC Chairman. Alhaji Azeez Adesiji, Chairman of Omoluabi Progressives, also spoke. Dr Najeem Salaam, former Speaker of the State Assembly, and Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, former SSG, were also present. They called ADC “the party to beat.” They added that Osun residents are ready to support the movement. This support is for the forthcoming elections.
Before the town hall meeting, the delegation paid homage. They visited the Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa, Oba Moses Oluwafemi Agunloye. He offered royal prayers for the party’s success.
The visit also included the commissioning of the ADC party secretariat. This new office is located in Oriade Local Government, Ijebu-Jesa.
