The North West chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth League has distanced itself from an unrecognized coalition of support groups in Kebbi State. The league declared the self-styled group unregistered and illegitimate within party structures.
National Coordinator Comrade Aliyu Suleiman addressed journalists in Kaduna. He stated the purported coalition lacks foundation at all party levels. This includes ward, local government, state, and national structures.
“This coalition never contributed to party activities,” Suleiman emphasized. “It never mobilized voters or engaged grassroots supporters. Its sole purpose is exploiting Senator Bagudu’s reputation for personal gain.”
The youth league reaffirmed strong support for Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu. As Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Bagudu serves as an invaluable asset. His work benefits the APC, President Tinubu, and North West residents.
According to Suleiman, Bagudu’s leadership strengthened party structures. It fostered unity and delivered community-focused policies. The minister prioritizes governance and youth development consistently.
“Senator Bagudu remains approachable and committed to inclusive progress,” Suleiman added. “His policies improve ordinary citizens’ lives. His vision proves indispensable to the APC and Tinubu’s administration.”
The APC youths condemned the coalition’s statements as baseless and divisive. They accused members of attempting to destabilize party cohesion. Such actions reflect political opportunism, according to Suleiman.
The league called for unity behind Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris. Party cohesion remains critical for sustaining developmental gains. This includes infrastructure and youth empowerment achievements.
“APC achieved milestones through Bagudu’s leadership,” Suleiman stated. “Members must consolidate gains, not entertain distractions. We must focus on genuine progress, not unfounded claims.”
The youth league pledged ongoing support for Bagudu’s central role. They aim to strengthen the party across Kebbi and the North West. This includes advancing policies that promote citizen welfare regionally.
