Former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari has confidently declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will reclaim control of Zamfara State by the 2027 elections. The senator made this pledge during a significant gathering of party members at his residence in Talata Mafara.
Addressing thousands of supporters, Yari emphasized that the APC should not be labeled an opposition party in Zamfara. He cited the party’s nationwide influence and organizational strength as evidence of its enduring dominance.
“Our presence here strengthens member confidence and reaffirms APC’s status as Nigeria’s ruling party,” Yari stated. “By 2027, we will govern Zamfara again. We reject the opposition label.”
Major Political Figures Rally Support
The meeting featured prominent leaders including Defence Minister of State Bello Matawalle, Senators, House of Representatives members, and former deputy governors. Attendees unanimously endorsed President Bola Tinubu’s administration while demonstrating party unity.
Yari acknowledged the party’s previous electoral setback but highlighted its robust grassroots presence: “Zamfara remains spiritually and structurally an APC state. We’ll reactivate our base to reclaim our people’s mandate.”
Grassroots Mobilization Strategy
The senator outlined plans for intensive mobilization across all wards and local governments. This effort aims to prevent member disillusionment and strengthen the party’s foundations ahead of 2027.
State APC Chairman Umar Tukur Danfulani echoed this direction, urging unity and discipline. “Victory requires teamwork without internal divisions. We must collectively return APC to Gusau Government House,” Danfulani asserted.
Leaders expressed confidence that coordinated stakeholder engagement would solidify APC’s position both in Zamfara and nationally.
Endorsing Tinubu’s Leadership
Participants pledged full support for President Tinubu’s economic reforms and security initiatives. Yari praised these policies as foundations for national growth.
“We stand firmly with President Tinubu. Zamfara will actively contribute to Nigeria’s success story under his administration,” Yari concluded.
