Senegalese-American artist Akon was arrested last Friday in Chamblee, Georgia, following a police warrant. Authorities detained him for nearly six hours.
Arrest Circumstances
The arrest stemmed from a bench warrant. This warrant was issued due to Akon’s failure to appear in court. The case related to an earlier driving incident in Roswell, New Mexico.
Police discovered Akon’s driver’s license had been suspended since January 2023. Additional issues emerged during the investigation.

In September, Akon’s Tesla Cybertruck was found stranded on a Georgia road. The electric vehicle had a dead battery. Further checks revealed more problems.
