The “Mr Money” moniker traces back to Asake’s breakthrough 2020 hit. It gained mainstream prominence following his massively successful 2022 debut album “Mr. Money With The Vibe.” This project propelled him to international recognition.
The handle change signals the upcoming release of his new project “Money.” Reports indicate this will be his first full-length album under Giran Republic. This follows his departure from Olamide’s YBNL Nation earlier in 2025.
Asake’s exit from YBNL sparked industry-wide speculation. Fans and analysts questioned the reasons behind the split between the two music heavyweights. An entertainment lawyer recently provided new insights.
According to legal representative Falaye, the issues began during contract negotiations. She revealed Asake rushed into the signing process without proper legal review. Despite Olamide’s advice to consult lawyers, the excited artist skipped this crucial step.
