The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is fast approaching. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has now released important guidelines. These inform supporters about items not allowed inside stadiums.
AFCON 2025 is set to kick off on December 21 in Morocco. Organizers stressed these restrictions. They aim to guarantee safety, maintain order, and ensure a smooth experience for all fans in the host cities.
CAF’s official website published the guidelines on Monday. All spectators will undergo security screening. This will happen before they gain access to the stadiums. Fans are strongly advised to leave prohibited items at home. This avoids potential delays or denial of entry on match days.
CAF emphasized these measures. They form part of wider security arrangements. These arrangements protect fans, players, and officials. This applies throughout Africa’s flagship football competition.
Items Prohibited at AFCON 2025 Stadiums
Several items are strictly forbidden from all AFCON 2025 stadiums. These include:
• Alcoholic beverages
• Illegal substances and drugs
• Weapons and sharp objects
• Fireworks and pyrotechnics
• Glass bottles or containers
• Flammable materials
• Racist, violent, or discriminatory banners
• Unauthorised political, religious, or commercial signs
• Drones and animals
• Large umbrellas and oversized hats
• Professional cameras and recording equipment
• Musical instruments and loud horns
• Radio-emitting devices (except mobile phones)

The football body urged supporters to cooperate fully with security personnel. This will help ensure matches are played in a safe and friendly atmosphere. Such an atmosphere is fitting for Africa’s most prestigious football tournament.
