The African Democratic Congress (ADC) faces escalating internal conflicts as a faction led by Nafiu Bala suspended 15 prominent members. Former National Chairman Ralph Nwosu heads the suspension list amid deepening party divisions.
Bashiru Abdul Mohammed, Special Adviser on Media to Hon. Leke Abejide, announced the suspensions on Friday in Abuja. The disciplinary action follows allegations of anti-party activities.

Affected members received six-month suspensions approved by the National Working Committee:

Reasons for Suspension
Factional Chairman Nafiu Bala cited violations of party unity protocols. “The NWC observed members engaging in anti-party activities,” Bala stated. He noted these actions caused disaffection among members.
The suspensions align with Article 15(a) of the ADC constitution. This allows disciplinary measures against conduct disrupting party operations.
Crackdown on Unauthorized Congresses
The Bala-led faction disowned alleged illegal congresses nationwide. “These unauthorized events are null and void,” declared the NWC statement. Party members were directed to disregard outcomes from such meetings.
