Party Reaction and Outlook
The ADC presidential primary is being closely monitored as the party seeks to select its flagbearer for the 2027 election. With results still being collated from other states, the contest remains open.
Amaechi had previously warned that he would reject any outcome deemed not free and fair. After voting in his ward in Ubima, Ikwerre LGA of Rivers State, he praised the peaceful turnout and the presence of INEC officials.
He stated that his acceptance of the final result hinges on the transparency of the process nationwide, adding that a credible exercise would see him work with whoever emerges as the party’s candidate.
The former Rivers State governor urged the ADC to ensure that the primary truly reflects the will of its members.
