Dele Oladeji, the Lagos State Chairman of the Accord Party, has extended an invitation to Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke. The party expressed its readiness to welcome him for his 2026 second-term ambition. This invitation comes ahead of the off-cycle governorship election.
Oladeji shared these views with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). He spoke in Lagos on Wednesday. His comments followed reports of Governor Adeleke leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Adeleke reportedly cited prolonged leadership crises and instability within the PDP.
Oladeji emphasized Accord’s anticipation. He stated, “We are waiting for his declaration.” He reiterated that the party is expectant of Governor Adeleke’s decision to join Accord.
He confirmed the party’s open-door policy. “In Accord, we are ready for him,” Oladeji affirmed. He added, “Whenever he decides to step in, we are set to receive him.”
Oladeji presented Accord as a peaceful political haven. He stressed that the party offers the stability Adeleke reportedly seeks. “Accord is a very stable and sanitised political platform,” he explained. He further noted, “We have no factions and no godfathers.”
He guaranteed a peaceful environment for new members. “Any candidate who joins us between now and 2027,” Oladeji said, “is sure of a peaceful and dependable structure.”
This absence of internal disputes makes Accord attractive. It appeals to serious political aspirants. The party avoids godfather politics and structural confusion.
Oladeji affirmed Accord’s full support. The party is ready to deploy its machinery. This would ensure Governor Adeleke’s success if he joins. He declared, “If he decides to step in, we will be ready to work with him and ensure his success.”
