The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed the Super Eagles will commence training camp in Rabat, Morocco on November 9. This prepares the team for the crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup Africa playoffs.
Nigeria faces Gabon in the semi-final stage on November 13. The winner advances to play either Cameroon or DR Congo on November 16. Only one nation will progress to the intercontinental playoffs in Mexico.
CAF confirmed both matches will occur at Rabat’s Prince Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex. The specific venue for Nigeria’s semi-final will be decided by draw. Options include the 18,000-seat El-Barid Stadium or the 22,000-capacity main complex.
An NFF source revealed comprehensive preparations are underway. “The NSC and NFF are leaving no stone unturned,” the source stated according to Punch. The team’s comeback spirit against Benin Republic will drive their playoff campaign.
Player communications have already begun ahead of the November 9 camp opening. The official emphasized players’ World Cup dreams provide extra motivation. “Everyone is on the same page,” he confirmed.
Playoff qualification followed FIFA’s October 17 world rankings. Nigeria ranked among Africa’s best second-placed teams. Nine African nations secured direct World Cup qualification. These playoffs determine the continent’s final representative.
