Nigerian gospel singer Kunle Kenny has ignited online conversation after announcing his intention to get a vasectomy.
He shared the news on X, explaining that he wishes to spare his wife from the side effects of hormonal contraceptives.
Singer Discusses Birth Control Choice
Kunle Kenny emphasizes that decisions about having children should be mutual, requiring agreement from both spouses.
He notes that he and his wife will only consider expanding their family when they both feel the timing is appropriate.
Taking Responsibility for Family Planning
Once they have reached their agreed-upon number of children, Kenny says he will undergo a vasectomy to prevent further pregnancies, relieving his wife of the burden of birth control.
He wrote, “Nobody is putting any birth control thing inside my wife’s body. No extraneous chemicals or pills. We will only have kids when we BOTH unanimously agree, as God allows in His mercy.”
He added, “And when we’re done, I’m getting a vasectomy. A woman’s body is too sensitive for these chemicals. The side effects are crazy!”
Public Reaction to His Statement
His remarks quickly attracted attention online, sparking a mix of supportive and critical responses.
