Ice Prince Shares Reasons Behind His Reluctance to Marry
Nigerian rapper Ice Prince has opened up about why he is not rushing into marriage, citing the growing number of failed unions and the financial strain associated with weddings.
He explained that witnessing many couples separate shortly after tying the knot has made him more cautious about taking that step.
The artist also highlighted the pressure to spend lavishly on ceremonies, noting that many people resort to borrowing money to fund their weddings.
Ice Prince said his friends frequently ask him for financial assistance to cover wedding expenses, a situation he wishes to avoid.
He stated, “These days I get scared of this marriage thing more and more every day because I see people get married and, in less than a year, they want out. I see the drama people go through to get married, the stress about borrowing money. My friends are constantly reaching out to me to borrow money to get married, and I don’t want to be that person… I’m hoping that maybe when I am 40. Some of my mentors got married at that age. Somebody like M.I Abaga got married at that age. Maybe when I’m that age I’ll probably be thinking about that. For now I don’t intend to.”
Looking ahead, Ice Prince shared other ambitions for when he reaches 40, including pursuing education and running a farm, rather than focusing on releasing albums.
