A woman has ignited widespread discussion online after condemning certain married men in Abuja for engaging in emotionally and financially exploitative relationships.
She shared her views in a viral social media post, claiming that some married men lure young women into luxurious lifestyles they cannot sustain on their own, only to later discard them.

Accusations of Manipulation by Married Men
According to her, many young women start with modest incomes and affordable housing before becoming involved with affluent married men who dramatically elevate their standard of living.
She noted, “You encounter a lady paying ₦400,000 rent, then you begin dating her and secure a flat costing ₦2 million for her.”
She continued, “You introduce her to an exclusive lifestyle, cut her off from friends and family, and demand she remain loyal to you despite your marital status.”
She further asserted that after a period, these men withdraw both emotional and financial support, often invoking religious convictions or a renewed dedication to their wives.
She remarked, “Now you claim you have devoted your life to Christ and wish to return to your spouse. Didn’t you consider that earlier?”
Online Reactions Divide
The post elicited mixed responses; some users concurred that such relationships foster unhealthy dependence, while others contended that adults must own their decisions.
Discussions about transactional liaisons, financial reliance, and dating customs in Abuja and Lagos have repeatedly emerged on Nigerian social platforms in recent years.
