A Nigerian woman has sparked online discussion after sharing her regret over ending a relationship years ago, following advice that she would find a better partner.
In an open post, she explained that she broke up with her boyfriend in 2018 after being repeatedly urged to “move on” and not plead for him to stay.
However, she later confessed that the promised “better man” never appeared.
Instead of a healthier romance, she encountered only heartbreak and letdown.
She humorously remarked that since the split, she has not encountered either a superior alternative or even a lesser one.
She recalled the exact words she heard: “I left my good boyfriend in 2018 because they said ‘move on, there are better options out there’; now I’ve only added to my body count, with no better man in sight. This isn’t a joke. I kept hearing ‘move on, don’t beg him,’ but from 2018 to today, the promised better option never arrived, and even a lesser option stayed out of reach.”
She also pointed followers to a video that captures her statement.
