Former Big Brother Naija contestant Tuoyo Ideh has accused National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) officers of brutality during a recent raid at Proxy Nightclub in Victoria Island, Lagos. The reality TV star claims he was severely beaten despite no illegal substances being found on him.
Nightclub Arrest Details
In an emotional Instagram video shared Monday night, Tuoyo described working as a club promoter when NDLEA operatives and military personnel stormed the venue. After thorough searches revealed no contraband, he was allegedly detained with other guests and transported to the NDLEA’s Ikoyi office where officers refused to release anyone.
Violent Ordeal Claimed
Tuoyo recounts being targeted after posting about his arrest on social media. “Five officers rushed at me,” he stated. “They slapped me while someone asked, ‘Na you go post abi?'”
The reality star claims officers then forced him outside: “They made me roll on the ground. They beat me with sticks while kicking and slapping me. I breathed so fast I thought I’d die.” He described this as the worst beating of his life.
Continued Mistreatment Allegations
Tuoyo alleges that although a female officer stopped the assault, she ordered him to perform frog jumps as punishment. This occurred despite severe pain that left him barely mobile. He captioned his video: “Nigeria finally happened to me. The pain isn’t funny. Our human rights are taken with no freedom of speech.”
NDLEA officials have not yet responded to these allegations. The incident has sparked conversations about law enforcement conduct during nightlife operations.
