A Nigerian lady has stirred online conversation after joking that she brought her Rottweiler along for the Ileya festivities because she could not afford a substantial ransom if abducted.
In a lighthearted post, she explained that growing insecurity and the rise in kidnapping incidents motivated her to keep the dog close for personal safety.
She was spotted in her vehicle with the dog seated at the rear, barking at passing cars.
She humorously remarked that she does not have ₦50 million for a ransom, highlighting the high demands often seen in kidnapping cases.
“As I don’t have ₦50 million for ransom. It’s just me and my Rottweiler heading to Ile Odun…”

@yagazieluchidi responded: “A single shot could turn the Rottweiler into barbecue, served alongside fura d’nunu while waiting for the ransom proof. Ransom and barbecue delivered together.”
@arike_jane noted: “Once they spot you, they’ll grab you—just like the Edo man who filmed his CCTV footage with his dog present. But the moment the dog stayed silent, they seized him.”
