Amaechi Denounces ADC Primary Outcome
Former Rivers State Governor and ex-Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has dismissed the results of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary held on Monday, labeling them as fabricated.
He reiterated his earlier stance that he would only accept the outcome if the exercise were free, fair and transparent.
I unequivocally reject the concocted results being announced.
Rotimi Amaechi
Amaechi added that he had previously declared his acceptance conditional on a credible process, and he remains firm on that position.
He claimed that a significant proportion of party members nationwide were barred from voting, which he said invalidated the exercise.
There’s no way that about eighty percent of members of the party were not allowed to vote, and you expect me to accept such results.
Rotimi Amaechi
Amaechi questioned the distinction of the ADC from other parties if such practices continue.
The rejection is likely to intensify internal disputes within the ADC as the party works to finalize its presidential nominee ahead of the 2027 general election.
As of the time of this report, the party’s leadership had not issued an official response to Amaechi’s allegations.
