Former Southampton Striker Victor Udoh Dies at 21 in Nigeria
Victor Udoh, the promising young striker who once played for Southampton and Royal Antwerp, has passed away at the age of 21 in Nigeria.
Reports from Mirror UK indicate that the exact cause of his death has not yet been confirmed by authorities.
Udoh had recently returned to Nigeria after finishing a short spell with Czech side Dynamo České Budějovice, which he joined after leaving Southampton in 2025.
Although he signed a three‑and‑a‑half‑year contract with Southampton, he remained with the club for only seven months and did not make a senior appearance before departing by mutual agreement to seek regular playing time.
Prior to his move to Belgium, Udoh progressed through the ranks at Antwerp after being signed from Abuja‑based Hypebuzz. He impressed in reserve football, scoring 12 goals in 21 matches, and went on to make 28 first‑team appearances for the Belgian club.
During his early years in Europe, he was regarded as a talented prospect with a bright future ahead of him.
Further details surrounding his death are still pending official confirmation.
