Media personality Mide Oni has ignited online discussion after advising women not to provide financial support to men in relationships, under any circumstances.
On her show, The Mide Show, she emphasized that men ought to be financially self‑sufficient and avoid depending on their female partners for money.
She stressed that women should decline every request for monetary assistance from men.
She said, “Please, women, stop giving men money. There is no justification for giving even a single pea. If a man asks you for cash, tell him Mide Oni insists there is no excuse for giving you one pea.”
Oni also addressed men, urging them to work hard and stop relying on women they date for financial help.
“Go to work, because your peers are working. Do they have two heads? Don’t come to me asking for money,” she declared.
When confronted with the notion that partners should naturally support each other financially, she rejected the idea that automatic monetary help is expected in relationships.
She added, “You know, when I made this comment before, men will reply asking why they shouldn’t be able to ask the women they’re dating for money. Isn’t it give and take? Isn’t that what a relationship is? Shouldn’t we help each other? Sorry, damsel. Sorry, damsel in distress.”
She maintained that men should concentrate on self‑reliance and building their own income rather than seeking financial aid from women they are involved with.
