Media personality Mide Oni has ignited online discussion after telling women not to provide financial assistance to men in any relationship scenario.
On her show, The Mide Show, she emphasized that men ought to be financially self-sufficient and avoid depending on their female partners for cash.
She firmly stated that women should decline every request for monetary help from men.
“Please, women, stop giving men money. There is no justification for giving even a single pea to a man. If a man asks you for cash, tell him Mide Oni said there is no excuse for giving you one pea,” she remarked.
Oni also addressed men directly, encouraging them to prioritize hard work and cease relying on women for financial support.
She added, “Go to work because your peers are working. Do they have two heads? Don’t come asking me for money.”
When confronted with criticisms about financial expectations in relationships, she rejected the idea that partners should automatically fund each other.
Responding to such viewpoints, she said: “And you know, when I expressed this earlier, there will be men commenting, asking why they shouldn’t be able to request money from the women they date. Is it not give and take? Is it not a partnership? Should we not be able to assist each other? Sorry, damsel. Sorry, damsel in distress.”
She maintained that men should concentrate on self-reliance and building their earnings rather than seeking financial aid from women they are involved with.
