A woman sparked online reactions after describing how a casual remark she made to her neighbor’s female guest led to a disagreement that caused the visitor to leave the premises.
She shared the incident on social media, explaining it occurred when the neighbor brought another woman to his flat while his routine activities in the compound had already attracted notice from other residents.
According to her account, the man escorted the guest to his apartment and then departed quickly.
She stated that the visitor later emerged outside wearing the man’s oversized clothing after changing out of her NYSC khaki uniform.
The woman said she deliberately positioned herself near the door and greeted the guest using a different woman’s name.
Encounter at the Doorway
She recalled that she addressed the visitor as “Vera” and pretended she believed she was the man’s spouse. She said she called out, “Vera, how’s it going? You just appeared without even checking on me,” while approaching her. The visitor replied, “Sorry?” and the woman responded, “Oh, I’m terribly sorry. I thought you were Vera, his wife,” before heading back inside.
Argument Ensues After the Remark
The lady noted that the neighbor returned shortly afterward, and a quarrel allegedly erupted between him and the guest before the woman eventually left the compound. She added, “He later knocked on my door asking what I told his companion. I denied any involvement and questioned whether he had even noticed me that day.” She also mentioned that the neighbor has since been hurling insults at her, labeling her with various names, including “demon,” because of the incident.
