The ADC primary is viewed as a key indicator of opposition strength as political parties realign ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Atiku, a former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), remains a central figure in Nigeria’s opposition landscape. Amaechi campaigned on institutional reforms and internal party democracy, while Hayatu-Deen emphasized economic restructuring and private‑sector‑driven growth.
Party officials say the final results will be released after collation of votes from the remaining states and the Federal Capital Territory.
