Grammy-nominated artist Davido has revealed that Akwa Ibom State’s exceptional facilities motivated his choice to host his first Nigerian concert there after 14 years in the music industry. The superstar confirmed this during preparations for his highly anticipated performance.
Akwa Ibom Tops African Venue Selection
The ‘Feel It’ singer explained that Akwa Ibom emerged as the premier choice when scouting locations across Africa. He praised the state’s overall beauty and infrastructure. Davido noted that if other Nigerian states matched Akwa Ibom’s standards, he would readily tour nationwide.
Commendation for State Leadership
Davido specifically acknowledged Governor Umo Eno’s effective governance. He highlighted achievements in security maintenance and youth development programs. The artist credited these factors for creating an ideal environment for major events.
During the venue tour, Davido stated: “When evaluating African locations, Akwa Ibom topped our list of five candidates. Attendees are traveling from states without comparable facilities.”
He added: “This Akwa Ibom show represents our premier African stop after a successful US tour. We specifically sought venues meeting international standards.”
The music star concluded: “Your world-class facility explains why we begin here. We’ll expand to other states progressively. The packed stadium excites me – let’s deliver an unforgettable experience!”
