Phyna Loses Instagram Account After Public Dispute with VeryDarkMan
Big Brother Naija season 7 winner Ijeoma Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, announced that her Instagram account has been suspended. The suspension came shortly after she posted a WhatsApp chat she claimed proved VeryDarkMan had made a sexual request toward her.
Phyna had accused VeryDarkMan of manipulating public opinion against her after she declined his advance. VeryDarkMan denied the allegation, stating that seeking consent from another adult is normal and demanding evidence to support the claim.
In response, Phyna shared what she said was a private WhatsApp conversation between herself and VeryDarkMan on her Instagram page. A few hours later, the platform disabled her account.
Taking to her 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) handle, Phyna clarified the situation: “I didn’t deactivate my IG. Deactivate say wetin happen na? It got suspended.”
Ongoing Grief Over Sister’s Tragic Death
The Instagram loss comes amid Phyna’s continued sorrow over the death of her younger sister, Ijeoma Otabo, who was killed by a Dangote truck driver. Phyna recently expressed regret that justice has not been served for her sister’s family.
In an emotional video shared on Instagram, Phyna broke down while responding to critics who accused her of neglecting her sister’s loved ones. Commenters wrote, “It was ur greed, nobody lied against u, stop all this emotional blackmail, u were too greedy u didnt care about ur sister’s welfare.”
Phyna replied tearfully, saying she and her family have faced relentless judgment since the incident became public. She added that she will never forgive herself for how the case unfolded and for the false narratives spread about her.
