A man has taken to social media to pour out his heart after alleging that the pregnant woman he cared for and hoped to marry vanished with his money and possessions shortly after delivering their baby.
How He Supported a Pregnant Stranger He Hoped to Wed
According to his account, he met the woman when she was three months pregnant. She told him the biological father of the child had rejected her. Despite earning a modest living as a block moulder, he chose to stand by her and urged her not to terminate the pregnancy.
He said he regularly visited to check on her health, bought food, and provided emotional support throughout the term, because he genuinely wanted a future together.
“She said the man responsible denied the pregnancy and wanted her to abort, but I begged her to keep the baby. Even with my humble job, I kept taking care of her and making sure she was fine,” he recalled.
“Later, she claimed her sister needed accommodation and I agreed. When she was eight months pregnant, I even traveled with my family to her village in Ebonyi State to meet her parents because I planned to marry her,” he added.
Breakdown After Childbirth
The man went on to say that after the baby arrived, he settled all hospital bills and helped her start a POS business to generate income for the household.
Trouble began, he said, when she reported losing ₦140,000 and later claimed that the phone he had bought for her was stolen. Eventually, she disappeared with the POS business cash and other valuables.
“When I finally got through to her after she fled, she told me she never loved me and had only been pretending the whole time,” he stated.
The story has sparked intense debate online, with social media users discussing trust, sacrifice, and the risks of investing emotionally and financially in relationships.
