Popular Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta has responded to fans who label him as underrated in the film industry.
In a recent interview with Akin Abolade, he said he does not agree with that view, pointing out that his educational background shows he has surpassed his own expectations.
Chatta Talks About His Education
He shared that he never finished formal schooling and does not hold an O‑level certificate.
When he measures himself against peers, he feels thankful for how far he has come.
He remarked, “If we judge by formal schooling, I believe I, Ibrahim Chatta, ought to be opening doors for colleagues like Femi Adebayo and Odunlade Adekola, since I never attended school. In truth, I don’t even possess an O‑level.”
Why He Feels He Doesn’t Deserve All He Has
The actor said he feels uneasy when called underrated because he regards his accomplishments as a gift, not something to be taken for granted.
He added, “I am constantly irritated when people say I am underrated. I feel I do not even merit all I have received; it is God’s grace that I enjoy, and I do not take it for granted.”
He Values His Fans’ Support
Although he rejects the underrated tag, Chatta acknowledged that fans use it out of affection and admiration.
He also noted that graduates and professors now utilize his work, which he sees as a blessing.
“I have many staff members who are graduates and professors using my creations, so why would anyone call me underrated? I know it stems from the love some fans have for me,” he said.
