A restaurant proprietor reportedly ended his romantic relationship after discovering that his partner’s sibling was allegedly taking food supplies from his establishment, triggering widespread discussion online.
The incident came to light on X (formerly Twitter) when a woman explained how the eatery owner grew wary of falling revenues even though he regularly invested large sums in inventory every few weeks.
According to the account, he routinely allocated over ₦300,000 for provisions every five weeks to maintain smooth operations.
Nevertheless, he observed that the income did not correspond with the amount of money being invested.
To pinpoint the source of the shortfall, he allegedly set up a private surveillance camera in the venue without notifying the staff.
Surveillance Footage Shows Recurring Theft
She stated that the covert footage showed the partner’s sister, an employee at the restaurant, covertly placing foodstuffs into plastic bags and removing them.
She noted that this was not an isolated event.
He said he kept reviewing the recordings and allegedly found that the worker carried out the same action for three days in a row.
After amassing sufficient proof, he allegedly confronted his girlfriend, presented her with the video evidence, and promptly terminated her sister’s employment.
Romantic Partnership Falls Apart Thereafter
The report added that the girlfriend was left stunned and unable to speak after viewing the recordings.
Rather than backing his choice, she allegedly blamed him for being callous and unyielding toward her relative.
The ensuing dispute ultimately resulted in the breakup.
According to the X poster, he declined to apologize for his actions and maintained that his enterprise should not be jeopardized by personal ties.
“He remarked that his business is unrelated to his romance,” the woman noted.
