Lady Defends Boyfriend After Alleged Assault

A Nigerian woman has ignited online discussion after standing by her partner despite claims he physically assaulted her.
She says he personally drove her to the hospital for treatment following the alleged beating and later apologized for his actions.
In her own words:
“There’s nothing anyone can tell me; I know my boyfriend truly loves me because after he finished beating me that day, he took me to the hospital himself for an X‑ray, paid for my treatment, apologized and promised not to hit me again.”
She explained that, although friends urged her to leave the relationship, she refused because they have been together for 13 years.
She added that her partner later bought groceries and other supplies to aid her recovery, insisting that nobody is perfect in a relationship.
“My friends were advising me to leave him, but I told them I can’t. After 13 years together, where would I find another love? He bought me milk, Milo and many other things to help me recover.”
“He doesn’t let me speak when he’s talking; if I try to talk, he slaps me. Still, I believe it’s love—someone who loves you will correct you,” she remarked.
Her comments have sparked heated debate online, with many users expressing worry about her perception of love and abusive relationships.
The video continues to circulate as Nigerians discuss domestic violence, toxic partnerships, and emotional bonds in long‑term relationships.
