Super Eagles Camp Grows to 17 Players
The Super Eagles camp in London continued to fill up on Sunday, with three more players arriving ahead of Tuesday’s Unity Cup semi‑final against Zimbabwe.
Goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, defender Chibuike Nwaiwu and striker Rafiu Durosinmi joined Éric Chelle’s squad, bringing the total number of players in camp to 17 after 14 had reported on Saturday.
Early Arrivals and Upcoming Additions
Eight home‑based players were among the early arrivals as Chelle opened camp ahead of the defence of Nigeria’s Unity Cup title.
More players are still expected, including captain Wilfred Ndidi and winger Moses Simon, with the full squad gradually taking shape before the clash with Zimbabwe’s Warriors.
Training Sessions Underway
The Super Eagles held their first training session on Saturday at Cray Valley FC, Middle Park Avenue, London. This marked the team’s first full workout under Chelle since the players began converging on camp.
A second session was scheduled for Sunday night at the same venue as the coaching staff intensified preparations for the encounter.
Match Details
Nigeria will face Zimbabwe on Tuesday, 26 May, at The Valley, home ground of Championship side Charlton Athletic, in the opening semi‑final of the Unity Cup.
The second semi‑final will see Jamaica take on India on Wednesday, while the final is slated for Saturday, 30 May, also at The Valley.
