Tinubu Secures APC Presidential Nomination for 2027 with Landslide Victory Across States
President Bola Tinubu has been declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate for the 2027 election after a resounding victory in the party’s primary. He polled more than 11 million votes, far surpassing the 8.79 million votes that secured his 2023 presidential win.
The official collation figures from the APC Presidential Primary Collation Centre show:
- 12,643,306 registered voters
- 11,069,756 accredited voters
- 11,015,665 total votes cast
His sole rival, Stanley Osifo, managed only 16,503 votes nationwide.

Tinubu’s strongest showing came from Lagos, where he garnered 814,988 votes, followed by Adamawa (644,149) and Kaduna (618,914).
By contrast, Osifo’s best result was recorded in Niger State with 5,248 votes. He also received modest support in Kano (2,675), Bauchi (2,650) and Abia (1,007), and scored zero or a single vote in 21 of the 37 reporting units, including the FCT, Osun, Kogi, Delta, Ebonyi, Jigawa, Kwara, Borno, Enugu, Kebbi, Ondo, Yobe, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Ekiti, Ogun, Sokoto, Cross River, Taraba, Gombe and Edo.
