Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Babachir Lawal has declared both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will suffer defeat in Nigeria’s 2027 general elections. The African Democratic Congress (ADC) National Vice Chairman made this bold prediction during the weekend.
Lawal spoke while receiving Otunba Olayinka Braimoh into the ADC. Braimoh previously contested as Kogi State governorship candidate under the Action Alliance.
The former SGF described the ruling APC as a sanctuary. He claimed it harbors fugitives escaping Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) investigations. “More patriots will join us soon,” Lawal stated. “This comes as the PDP self-destructs and APC becomes an EFCC fugitive haven.”
Lawal accused the APC of electoral delusions. He alleged their primary strategy involves pre-writing election results. “This delusion won’t succeed,” he asserted. “Nigerians will support us to prevent criminal manipulation of 2027 polls.”
The ADC leader issued a caution about party defections. He stated not all politicians switching parties would gain ADC membership. This prevents corrupt practices from their former parties.
Lawal positioned the ADC as Nigeria’s visionary alternative. He described it as a party for patriots dissatisfied with APC and PDP leadership. “Our nation stands at a critical cliff edge,” he declared. “ADC offers a U-turn toward progressive, people-centered governance.”
He also criticized Adamawa State’s PDP administration. Lawal claimed Governor Ahmadu Fintiri delivered no meaningful projects in six years. “Billions reached the state, yet only underused flyovers materialized,” he remarked. “We question if funds actually left Abuja for Yola.”
