Nigerian influencer Priscilla Ojo-Mkambala has responded to online backlash after being photographed wearing her wedding shoes at a recent public event. The 24-year-old daughter of Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo addressed critics through her Snapchat platform.
Ojo used the opportunity to critique societal pressures on young women. She expressed concern about unrealistic lifestyle expectations amplified by social media. Many feel compelled to maintain appearances beyond their financial means.
“My generation lives in delusion,” Priscilla stated. “People think I should wear Jimmy Choo shoes only once because my following grew. This pressure makes many girls chase unattainable standards while lacking actual resources.”
The mother of one emphasized personal autonomy over public opinion. “My life progresses as I choose. Only the happiness of family, friends and genuine fans matters. All other opinions are just noise.”
Priscilla married Tanzanian singer Juma Jux earlier this year. Their private ceremony included only close family and friends. She continues to advocate for authentic living despite celebrity status.
