Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has described Arsenal as the best team in the world without the ball, ahead of their highly anticipated Champions League final later this month.
The French Ligue 1 champions will face the newly crowned Premier League winners in Budapest on May 30, in what is shaping up to be one of the most exciting finals in recent years.
PSG Enter as Favourites
PSG head into the final as slight favourites, having beaten Arsenal 3-1 on aggregate in last season’s semi-finals before thrashing Inter Milan 5-0 to lift the trophy. However, Enrique is under no illusions about the threat Arsenal pose.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, shortly after Arsenal secured the Premier League title, the PSG boss praised Mikel Arteta’s side for their all-round performance this season.
“I believe they deserve to win the league. They have had an outstanding season,” Enrique said.
“We have already faced this Arsenal team, so we are fully aware of their capabilities. Without the ball, they are the best team in the world, and with it, they can score frequently. This creates a remarkable combination for them.”
Arsenal Seek First Champions League Title
Arsenal will be aiming to win the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history, while PSG are chasing back-to-back European crowns after finally ending their long wait for the title last season.
The final promises to be a thrilling encounter between two of Europe’s most in-form teams, with both sets of fans eagerly awaiting the showdown in Budapest.
