Popular Nigerian skitmaker Isaac Aloma Junior, known professionally as Zicsaloma, has revealed his most significant financial misstep involved purchasing a Range Rover Sport SUV.
The comedian disclosed the luxury vehicle became a money pit within months of ownership. He spent approximately ₦10 million on repeated repairs during just three to four months, yet the car continued to develop mechanical faults.
The Costly Vehicle Experience
Zicsaloma described the ordeal as both financially draining and emotionally stressful. He ultimately sold the SUV at a massive loss, recovering only ₦11 million from his initial ₦30 million investment.
In his own words: “Buying a Range Rover Sport was one of my worst financial mistakes. I purchased it for over ₦30 million, then spent ₦10 million fixing it in three months. When I sold it for ₦11 million, it felt like throwing away ₦30 million and getting back just ₦1 million.”
Rise to Fame Through Content Creation
The comedian gained popularity through social media skits, building a loyal fanbase over time. While content creation has enabled Zicsaloma to acquire valuable assets, the Range Rover experience remains his most costly lesson.
This cautionary tale highlights the potential financial pitfalls of high-maintenance luxury vehicles. Zicsaloma’s experience serves as a reminder to carefully consider ongoing costs beyond the initial purchase price.
